@xahlee They are using the "responsive web design" strategy with columns meant to work in both desktop browser and mobile screens. A bit more work could have made the desktop experience better.

the web UI designers, now called UX, are idiots to the extreme. Every few years, they have new thing, then it cycles and dies out.
i've read a lot about "responsive web design". Sure, a code-saving method for UI is nice. But the very first problem is the jargon, which spread unthinking and cult-like mindset.
the other big thing from UI designer idiots, is gray on white.
