I bought my first cryptocurrency yesterday! Some BTC, ETH, BAT, and LTC.
It feels exciting!
I wish I had more money to play this game.
@theDanielJLewis best of luck.
My experience has taught me that dollar cost averaging is possibly the best play. Little and often. However i would also be hesitant in buying something at the height of its value whatever it was, as always only "play" with what you can afford to lose.
Crypto nearly cost me everything i 2018, my #QoK, my kids, i even contemplated taking my life, so be very careful, but best of luck!
@GWFF Yikes. I'm glad you're still with us!
Yes, I'm not in this to get rich or bet with my life-savings. I'll be doing dollar-cost averaging for sure, as well as having some money to "play" with.
I've been to Vegas many times but, surprisingly, never played anything. However, my perspective was always that if I were to play, the money I bet would be the admission cost for the entertainment.
@theDanielJLewis I got in the crypto game 2 days ago. It is exciting. Nothing much, but I wanted in a little bit. I had 3 BTC in the beginning days and sold early. Did not want to be kicking myself in 10 years, as I am now. Lol.
@danksteady Yeah. It's like the Chinese proverb about planting a tree.
I had Amazon stock back when it was $36! I wish I had held onto it. But I cashed out all my holdings in 2006 to buy my first house—at 23 years old! So even though it wasn't the wealthiest choice, it was the better choice for me.
@danksteady Are you back in BTC, or is something else catching your eye?
BTC, LTC, and ETH are my "stable" purchases; BAT is my "play" purchase.
@theDanielJLewis I did get back into BTC, but very little. LTC, GRT, and Link. I really am just learning at this point. Can’t win if you don’t play, right?
@theDanielJLewis if you want you can check out the free coins they have on coin base, through the lessons they offer. I ended up getting about 60 CAD in coins, converted them all to BTC and transferred to a wallet that allows DOGE. Doesn't seem to be going well right now, but wtf do I have to lose. Keep an eye on network fees, can't escape them but some wallet hosts charge based on traffic at that time.
@ArmageddonFeast Yeah, I think it was $40 or $31 USD. I've done two or three of them, but haven't received the coins, yet.
@ArmageddonFeast Oh! Apparently I needed to complete the quiz after each lesson, which wasn't enabled until my account had finished verification. So now I'm earning from learning!
