Just realized I hadn't posted a pic of the awesome new split keyboard I got on here yet. Was bloody expensive, but definitely worth it in my opinion. The Ergodox EZ is an excellent piece of hardware
@skypage lol ur one of those guys
Can't tell which crowd you're trying to lump me into
@skypage good point. You're a split keyboard person, & an LED guy!
@skypage I should say split keyboard elitist... always feel looked down upon by that crowd.
Ha, I'm no elitist, just enjoying the new hardware. The Ergodox is my first split keyboard I've bought for myself. Had the option to try a less fancy split keyboard at work and decided I like that style enough to really dive in.
Personally, I'd recommend the one I got to anyone. It really makes a wonderful difference in comfort.
Personally, I'm happy with the Ergodox. The schematics and instructions to build your own are entirely free online for those who want to build their own (and have the soldering skills). The firmware is open source as well, so you can compile your own custom firmware if that's your thing. It's a tinkerer's dream keyboard imo
@skypage sweet keyboard $%^*
I did say it was pricey 🤣
@skypage That sucks, maybe they will repair under warranty.
I get the feeling my fellow pun and literal humor aficionado at work will also groan at that one 😅
@skypage My Logitech G11 is still rocking it.
Had a G15 for a long while, though I eventually got rid of it after spilling something on it one too many times and having issues after taking it apart that last time to clean it. Was a good keyboard, but I had been considering options for something with mechanical switches when that happened.
Personally, I can't go back to membrane boards. The mechanical switches are so much more consistent and nicer feeling.
