I (a Canadian) have seen three things about mac & cheese being part of (American) Thanksgiving dinner.

I don't recall it being part of Thanksgiving dinner with family in Oregon in my childhood.

Is this new? Has it always been the case? Is it a regional thing?

@levisan If it's a thing it's a regional thing, it's not traditional on the front range where I grew up.

@greyknight33 I grew up calling it KD but it's now called "Mac and Cheese by Bryan Brand" by my oldest

@levisan I recall macaroni pasta and ham and other gross stuff mixed in. As a kid I was a big fan of Kraft Mac & Cheese and I always thought the holiday special more homemade was inferior.

@levisan funny you should mention that, I was just trying to decide how much mac and cheese to have tomorrow.
