Well, I lived through a lot of that migration.

In college we had some students working summers at ISI at USC (one of the old ARPANET nodes). We also could use the TIP at CalTech (CIT) to dial in and connect to MIT and other sites.

Later, working for Honeywell, HI-MULTICS was connected to the ARPANET by a 9600 leased line.

Later, Sun workstations, Mosaic, etc.

Lots of fun and memories.
