Delete Chrome. Now.
Google is using its exceptionally powerful position to make *the browser itself* analyze your browsing behavior and serve that on a plate in the form of "cohorts" to anyone interested.
They are transforming Chrome into a "browsing-history-passport" - right now.
If you care about your intellectual freedom even a little bit, you must put Chrome out of your life as soon as possible. Support others doing the same.
@Tim @setthemfree @fcgreg i would presume its blink/chromium-wide, sooner or later.
back to firefox. :-)
@akeno @fcgreg @setthemfree @Tim @jeremiah #unixsheikh.com shows us we need to choose our news sources carefully. Tor users see: "Error: IP in X-Forwarded-For header is blocked: 185.220.100.252"
@koherecoWatchdog @fcgreg @setthemfree @Tim @jeremiah
What does that mean ? To me it looks like the site is censored by Tor network. correct me if I am wrong
@akeno @jeremiah @Tim @setthemfree @fcgreg Changing circuits gives "Error: IP in X-Forwarded-For header is blocked: 77.247.181.165". Also, that msg is in the body of the HTTPS-fetched page, so no mitm would be able to insert that error. It must be coming from unixsheikh.com. Not sure what the error msg means.

"I am sorry about this, but I'm currently not self-hosting and my hosting provider blocks an IP address if it has been used in some malicious way (according to them) within a certain amount of time. This is not specific to Tor or VPN services, but in general."
@akeno @fcgreg @setthemfree @Tim @jeremiah i appreciate the explanation. Your hosting provider is bullshitting you. They blanket block all Tor IPs at all times. No matter when I check, it's always blocked, even if I try different exit nodes. Even more obnoxious: they also block archive.org, so Tor users are also blocked from seeing a mirror of the site. So I can't see that faq link you just sent either.
@koherecoWatchdog @fcgreg @setthemfree @Tim @jeremiah
iT'S NOT MINE. what are you some tor bigot? do you think you are safe with tor? you are not. most of tor is a honeypot . use some vpn or deploy your own.
@koherecoWatchdog @fcgreg @setthemfree @Tim @jeremiah
and how many days do you load one website? 🤣
@akeno @jeremiah @Tim @setthemfree @fcgreg A VPN is far less anonymous than Tor. It's naive to think a VPN service doesn't see both sides of the route +fingerprinting. "deploy your own" is even more foolish, as the other endpoint is no less yours than your origin. It's also a pushover move to access the website over a VPN-- you are dancing for an oppressor, bending over backwards to help them get your attention. Fuck that.
@koherecoWatchdog
OK. GL with your government run Tor nodes.😉
@jeremiah @Tim @setthemfree @fcgreg
firefox isn't a single bit better than chromium. research, it's all shit. mozilla corp is for profit and owned by same people on the end.
