I'll be more clear with my position on this topic.

I support Richard M. Stallman, everything that lead of his ousting in the FSF was shaky at best and a character assassination at worst. There was never an appeal, nor a sense of looking for context, it was just an attempt to erase him from the public discourse.

I think there's more to it, it can be struggles inside the FSF organization, a new breed of tech enthusiasts who are less forgiving of social misdeeds and people who just have an axe to grind but it just doesn't feel right.

The ideals of Free Software and liberating people from technological chains are more important than one man. There are different approaches and there has been thousands of hours discussions about this. You can even argue that Stallman's time is done and his ideas are better delivered by others.

And yet I think the overwhelming barrage of people wanting to shut him down is still wrong. Mob justice can only take you so far and accomplish so little.
