the fact that "social justice warrior" is considered by some a derogatory phrase is rather strange. justice refers to truth, reason, law, and secondarily, morality. all of which seems like things we would want applied to each other, right? even nazis expect social justice amongst one another.
we might as well start insulting our peer's interest in our well-being by calling them friends.
@wxl warrior for social justice and Social Justice Warrior are two different things. Both labels, but only one is a brand identity or even subculture in its own right. When capitalized, many of your descriptors cease to apply - most notably 'reason' and 'law'.
@wxl not a linguist, then?
@wxl yes. Welcome to the real world.
@awesome capitalizing a phrase and using that to justify a completely different meaning has nothing to do with meaning, semantics, pragmatism, phoentics, or any other part of linguistics. it's like re-appropriation.
