@agates I have installed more chat apps in the last week than I thought existed. Everyone is using something different and inviting me. ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™€๏ธ

@jennifer @agates I always thought all of the chat apps were a bad idea. Guess what works instantly from one phone to the next SMS and email.

I have to read @SirBemrose in on this one, he will likely rant on why the "I don't have anything to hide," argument is a very bad one.

I'll sum it up by saying non-interesting content should still be private. Non-interesting content can be used against you in a court of law. In the realm of government surveillance, encrypt and obfuscate EVERYTHING. ๐Ÿ˜Ž

@darrenoneill @saltymedic @jennifer @agates To date, my favorite response to the 'nothing to hide' argument:

"I need privacy, not because MY motives are questionable, but because YOURS are."

Ever notice how every argument in favor of government or corporate surveillance assumes, ex facie, that the entity doing the surveiling is benevolent with pure motives? This is almost never true in the real world.

That's because, when a bear shits in the woods... no one cares. Welcome to the woods

No. I really don't. Inverted voyeurism for inverted fascism.

In the future everyone will be famous for fifteen
