The issue is that corporations can exert so much more power it's employees than the government can over the corporations. The feudalist structure of businesses is antithetical to democracy.
@BDCooper 1. Democracy is antithetical to human flourishing. 2. There are different kinds of businesses. I'd differentiate between giant public companies like Google and a small, privately owned company employing a couple hundred people. One is a monster, the other an important mediating institution. 3. Real problem is giant companies are in bed with Gov: corporatism, not that government can't control them. They work together. Sure big corps can coopt a gov, but The State is not the answer.
