Billie Holiday did a live TV show in New York in 1957 at CBS called The Sound of Jazz. It was directed by my uncle Jack Smight. I got this still from his son after Jack passed. This still is from that show's rehearsal. You can see it on Youtube.

Just watched The United States vs. Billie Holiday on Hulu. Great production and amazing cast. Andra Day who plays Billie is incredible, awards coming. The song Strange Fruit should be remembered forever as an anthem for the embarrassing and hideous history of racism in the US.

Hey you smart NA people. Can someone please tell me... This photo is of a bathroom mirror with a cabinet. I got rid of the rust on what I thought was stainless steel. This black stuff under the rust is corrosion? What I thought was stainless steel I think it's actually electroplated sheet metal? It won't come off with any more scrubbing. Thx.

Looking for something to watch check out this new movie on Amazon called The Map of Tiny Perfect Things. It's a play on Ground Hog Day. They actually talk about it in the film. The two actors who are in this weird time bending thing are Kathryn Newton who was on Big Little Lies recently, and Kyle Allen who was on The Path on Hulu. This is a well made film and has a positive vibe.

Did you know that 87 year old Willie Nelson has a new album out? That's Life is the seventy-first solo studio album by Willie Nelson. It was released on February 26, 2021, by Legacy Recordings. NIH Director Collins: Masks ‘Still Important’ Even After Being Vaccinated, ‘Even If We’re Overdoing It’

And of course they are over doing it. They are lying to the public. And just remember this graphic from a post of mine. CDC guidelines from mask wearing pre covid, Feb 2020.

I took a slight detour on my drive tonight. I went down Ventura Blvd. The outdoor dining scene looks pretty healthy. Very busy drive.

Because I don't listen to M5M media, I'm just hearing about this today.

Burt Reynolds remains moved to Hollywood Forever Cemetery.

Just watched Nomadland (2020) with Frances McDormand (producer), David Strathairn. One of the most beautiful films I have seen in a long time. After losing everything in the Great Recession, a woman embarks on a journey through the American West, living as a van-dwelling modern-day nomad. Amazing cinematography by Joshua James Richards. A very special music score by Ludovico Einaudi. Frances McDormand is becoming one of the great actresses of our time, I'm a huge fan. A+

The new 6th Street bridge being built in Los Angeles. From Friday.

Any Al Di Meola fans out there? Tidal music just posted a live album from 1978 at the Paramount Theater in Seattle and broadcast live on KZAM radio. Starts with a 6 minute phone interview with Al then an hour long concert in extremely clear audio. An amazing recording. You can find this also on youtube posted last oct.

Today is Eckhart Tolle's birthday he's 73. He wrote one of the most important books I have ever read, The Power of Now. If you have never heard of this check it out. The whole book is on Youtube.

The wife got the second Moderna shot this morning and this button.

It's been 11 months and this memo is still taped next to the time clock at work (a major lab). This was reality before Covid. You may be able to gage how full of shit the CDC is.

Just watched The Dig (2021) on Netflix with Ralph Fiennes, Carey Mulligan and a great cast. Basil Brown, excavator finds a 5th century Anglo Saxon ship buried in the English countryside. This film gives him the credit he deserved. A+

I'm listening to this great book. The island of Tinian (about 100 miles north of Guam and 1500 from mainland Japan) was the base for the drop of two atomic bombs in Japan. This lead up to the drop is fascinating. The author lives on Tinian. A+
